Rare Energy are developing a novel ammonia cracking technology (creates hydrogen gas from liquid
ammonia) in conjunction with Newcastle Institute for Energy and Resources (NIER) based at the
University of Newcastle. This cracking technology, in conjunction with a fuel cell and other supporting
systems, will enable the development of an “Ammonia Generator” which could functionally replace
diesel gensets with zero carbon emissions at site.
